About this package

Dengue is diagnosed with different tests at different points of the illness. NS1 antigen finds the virus in the first few days, IgM antibodies appear from about day four or five, and IgG helps tell a first infection from a repeat one, which matters because repeat dengue carries a higher risk of severe disease. This panel includes all three. Dengue can raise liver enzymes, so the liver function test is part of monitoring, while malaria and typhoid tests rule out the two commonest look-alikes. The blood count tracks platelets, whose trend is the key warning sign.

An advanced dengue panel: NS1, IgM and IgG, with liver function, CRP, malaria, typhoid and a blood count.

What does this package cover?

The 8 tests are grouped into 3 health areas:

Blood count & inflammation 2 tests

Red cells, white cells and platelets, blood group, and general inflammation markers.

  • Complete Blood Count (CBC)

RBC count, haemoglobin, haematocrit, WBC count with differential (neutrophils, lymphocytes, monocytes, eosinophils, basophils), platelet count, and red-cell indices (MCV, MCH, MCHC).

  • CRP (C-Reactive Protein)

The level of C-reactive protein circulating in the blood, which rises within hours of an inflammatory trigger.

Liver 1 test

Liver enzymes, bilirubin and proteins that show inflammation, fatty liver or reduced liver function.

  • Liver Function Test (LFT)

SGPT/ALT, SGOT/AST, ALP, GGT, total/direct/indirect bilirubin, total protein, albumin, globulin, and the A/G ratio.

Infections 5 tests

Screens for common infections such as hepatitis, HIV, syphilis, dengue, malaria and typhoid.

  • Dengue - IgG (ELISA)

IgG antibodies against the dengue virus, which typically appear later in infection and can remain detectable for years afterward.

  • Dengue - IgM (ELISA)

IgM antibodies against the dengue virus, which typically appear around day 4-5 of illness and fade over a few weeks to months.

  • Dengue NS1 Antigen

Dengue NS1 Antigen is a blood test. Early dengue detection - positive from day 1 of fever.

  • Malaria Antigen Test

Malaria Antigen Test is a blood test. Rapid detection of malaria parasite antigens.

  • Widal Test (Typhoid)

Widal Test (Typhoid) is a blood test. Screens for typhoid fever antibodies.

8 tests included (44 parameters)

Who is this package for?

Designed for

Men & women

Age group

All ages

Purpose

Health screening

People with high fever, severe body and eye pain, rash or low platelets, especially in or after the monsoon.

How often should you get it done?

Only when ill. The blood count may need repeating every day or two as advised by your doctor.

Not everyone needs every test. Whether this package suits you depends on your age, symptoms, family history and any ongoing treatment - your doctor can advise.

What can you learn from this package?

The package can provide information about:

  • Blood count & inflammation - Complete Blood Count (CBC) and CRP (C-Reactive Protein)
  • Liver - Liver Function Test (LFT)
  • Infections - Dengue - IgG (ELISA), Dengue - IgM (ELISA), Dengue NS1 Antigen, Malaria Antigen Test and Widal Test (Typhoid)

A package gives individual results for each test - it does not diagnose disease by itself.

How to prepare

  • Fast for 8 to 10 hours before the sample - plain water is allowed. An early-morning slot makes this easier.
  • Drink water as usual, and avoid alcohol and strenuous exercise for 24 hours before.
  • Take your regular medicines unless your doctor advises otherwise, and tell the phlebotomist what you take.
  • Wear a loose-sleeved top so the blood sample can be collected easily.

Understanding your package report

Your report lists the result of each test separately, with its own unit and reference range. Values outside the range are highlighted.

There is no single overall "health score" - each result is read on its own and then together with the others. One out-of-range value is not a diagnosis, and a normal report does not guarantee you are completely healthy.

Share the report with your doctor, who will interpret it with your symptoms and history. Call us if you need help reading it.

Frequently asked questions

Which dengue test is best on day one or two?

NS1 antigen, which detects the virus directly in the first five days. Antibody tests are usually still negative that early.

What does a positive IgG with negative IgM mean?

Usually a past dengue infection. A positive IgG together with NS1 or IgM can suggest a repeat infection, which your doctor will watch more closely.

Do I need to fast?

A fast of eight to ten hours is advised for the liver tests when possible, but treatment should never be delayed for it.
