About this package

In the monsoon and the weeks after it, a fever with body ache could be viral, dengue, malaria or typhoid, and the treatment for each is different. This panel tests for the three together so you are not guessing. The dengue NS1 antigen picks up dengue in the first few days, when antibody tests are still negative. The malaria antigen test and the Widal test look for the other two common causes. The blood count and CRP are what make it useful to a doctor. A falling platelet count is the key warning sign in dengue, and CRP separates a heavily inflamed picture from a mild one. Results are best taken while the fever is active, ideally between the first and fifth day.

Targets the infections behind fever in Mumbai: dengue, malaria and typhoid, with CBC and CRP to judge severity.

What does this package cover?

The 5 tests are grouped into 2 health areas:

Blood count & inflammation 2 tests

Red cells, white cells and platelets, blood group, and general inflammation markers.

  • Complete Blood Count (CBC)

RBC count, haemoglobin, haematocrit, WBC count with differential (neutrophils, lymphocytes, monocytes, eosinophils, basophils), platelet count, and red-cell indices (MCV, MCH, MCHC).

  • CRP (C-Reactive Protein)

The level of C-reactive protein circulating in the blood, which rises within hours of an inflammatory trigger.

Infections 3 tests

Screens for common infections such as hepatitis, HIV, syphilis, dengue, malaria and typhoid.

  • Dengue NS1 Antigen

Dengue NS1 Antigen is a blood test. Early dengue detection - positive from day 1 of fever.

  • Malaria Antigen Test

Malaria Antigen Test is a blood test. Rapid detection of malaria parasite antigens.

  • Widal Test (Typhoid)

Widal Test (Typhoid) is a blood test. Screens for typhoid fever antibodies.

5 tests included (30 parameters)

Why consider this package?

  • 5 laboratory investigations in one booking
  • Looks at 2 health areas together, not in isolation
  • All samples collected in a single home visit
  • Costs ₹596 less than booking the tests separately
  • Useful for preventive screening, or when your doctor wants these tests together
  • Pathologist-reviewed reports shared online

Who is this package for?

Designed for

Men & women

Age group

All ages

Purpose

Health screening

Anyone with fever lasting more than two days, fever with chills and sweating, severe body or joint pain, or a fever after mosquito exposure or travel. Children and older adults should not wait.

How often should you get it done?

Only when you are ill. If the fever continues after a negative result, your doctor may repeat a test, because some tests are time-sensitive and become positive later.

Not everyone needs every test. Whether this package suits you depends on your age, symptoms, family history and any ongoing treatment - your doctor can advise.

What can you learn from this package?

The package can provide information about:

  • Blood count & inflammation - Complete Blood Count (CBC) and CRP (C-Reactive Protein)
  • Infections - Dengue NS1 Antigen, Malaria Antigen Test and Widal Test (Typhoid)

A package gives individual results for each test - it does not diagnose disease by itself.

How to prepare

  • No fasting is required for this package.
  • Drink water as usual, and avoid alcohol and strenuous exercise for 24 hours before.
  • Take your regular medicines unless your doctor advises otherwise, and tell the phlebotomist what you take.
  • Wear a loose-sleeved top so the blood sample can be collected easily.

Understanding your package report

Your report lists the result of each test separately, with its own unit and reference range. Values outside the range are highlighted.

There is no single overall "health score" - each result is read on its own and then together with the others. One out-of-range value is not a diagnosis, and a normal report does not guarantee you are completely healthy.

Share the report with your doctor, who will interpret it with your symptoms and history. Call us if you need help reading it.

Frequently asked questions

When during the fever should I take this test?

Dengue NS1 is most reliable in the first five days of fever, while malaria tests work best when the fever is present. If you are already well into the second week, tell the phlebotomist, because other tests such as antibody tests may suit better.

Do I need to fast?

No. This panel can be done at any time of day without fasting, which is helpful when you are unwell. Drink plenty of fluids as usual.

Why is the platelet count so important in fever?

Dengue can lower platelets quickly. The count is read as a trend: doctors often repeat the blood count every day or two. A single normal value does not rule out a later drop, so follow your doctor's advice on repeat checks.

Can the Widal test give a false result?

It can. A previous typhoid vaccine or a past infection may leave raised antibodies, so Widal is read together with symptoms and the timing of fever. Your doctor may advise a culture test if the picture is unclear.
