About this package

Anaemia has many causes, and treating the wrong one wastes time. This panel measures the three nutrients that red cells depend on, iron, vitamin B12 and folic acid, so a shortage of any of them shows up. The reticulocyte count shows how actively the marrow is making new cells, which helps tell a production problem from a loss. ESR and CRP bring in inflammation, a common hidden cause that locks iron away and lowers haemoglobin. When the nutrients are normal and the markers of inflammation are raised, the story shifts from diet to a deeper investigation. It is a good panel for anaemia that has not responded to the first round of treatment.

A thorough anaemia work-up: iron, B12, folic acid, reticulocytes and inflammation markers, to find out why haemoglobin is low.

What does this package cover?

The 7 tests are grouped into 3 health areas:

Blood count & inflammation 3 tests

Red cells, white cells and platelets, blood group, and general inflammation markers.

  • Complete Blood Count (CBC)

RBC count, haemoglobin, haematocrit, WBC count with differential (neutrophils, lymphocytes, monocytes, eosinophils, basophils), platelet count, and red-cell indices (MCV, MCH, MCHC).

  • CRP (C-Reactive Protein)

The level of C-reactive protein circulating in the blood, which rises within hours of an inflammatory trigger.

  • ESR (Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate)

The rate at which red blood cells settle in a vertical tube over 60 minutes.

Iron & anaemia 2 tests

Iron stores and red-cell production - the commonest causes of anaemia and tiredness.

  • Iron Studies

Serum iron, TIBC, UIBC (unsaturated iron-binding capacity), transferrin saturation percentage, and ferritin (the body’s iron-storage protein).

  • Reticulocyte Count

The percentage or absolute count of reticulocytes - red blood cells that are less than a few days old.

Vitamins, bone & minerals 2 tests

Vitamin D, B12, folate and the minerals and hormones that keep bones and nerves healthy.

  • Folic acid

The concentration of folate in the blood.

  • Vitamin B12

    Serum vitamin B12 (cobalamin) concentration.

7 tests included (35 parameters)

Why consider this package?

  • 7 laboratory investigations in one booking
  • Looks at 3 health areas together, not in isolation
  • All samples collected in a single home visit
  • Costs ₹794 less than booking the tests separately
  • Useful for preventive screening, or when your doctor wants these tests together
  • Pathologist-reviewed reports shared online

Who is this package for?

Designed for

Men & women

Age group

All ages

Purpose

Health screening

People with persistent anaemia, fatigue, pale skin, breathlessness or tingling, and those whose haemoglobin has not improved on iron tablets.

How often should you get it done?

Once, then a repeat of key values after treatment, as advised by your doctor.

Not everyone needs every test. Whether this package suits you depends on your age, symptoms, family history and any ongoing treatment - your doctor can advise.

What can you learn from this package?

The package can provide information about:

  • Blood count & inflammation - Complete Blood Count (CBC), CRP (C-Reactive Protein) and ESR (Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate)
  • Iron & anaemia - Iron Studies and Reticulocyte Count
  • Vitamins, bone & minerals - Folic acid and Vitamin B12

A package gives individual results for each test - it does not diagnose disease by itself.

How to prepare

  • Fast for 8 to 10 hours before the sample - plain water is allowed. An early-morning slot makes this easier.
  • Drink water as usual, and avoid alcohol and strenuous exercise for 24 hours before.
  • Take your regular medicines unless your doctor advises otherwise, and tell the phlebotomist what you take.
  • Wear a loose-sleeved top so the blood sample can be collected easily.

Understanding your package report

Your report lists the result of each test separately, with its own unit and reference range. Values outside the range are highlighted.

There is no single overall "health score" - each result is read on its own and then together with the others. One out-of-range value is not a diagnosis, and a normal report does not guarantee you are completely healthy.

Share the report with your doctor, who will interpret it with your symptoms and history. Call us if you need help reading it.

Frequently asked questions

Why would iron tablets not fix my anaemia?

Possible reasons are another deficiency such as B12, poor absorption, ongoing blood loss, or inflammation locking iron away. This panel looks for each of those.

What are reticulocytes?

They are young red blood cells newly released by the marrow. A high count means the marrow is trying hard to compensate, and a low one suggests it is not making enough.

How should I prepare?

Fast for eight to ten hours with water allowed, and skip iron tablets and multivitamins on the morning of the test unless your doctor says otherwise.

How soon will I see improvement after treatment?

Reticulocytes can rise within a week, and haemoglobin within two to four weeks. Refilling iron stores takes several months.
