About this package

This is the thorough version of the diabetic kidney check. Cystatin C and creatinine give two estimates of filtration, microalbumin and urine routine find early leakage, and PTH looks at mineral and bone health, which starts to shift as kidney function declines. The lipid profile checks cholesterol, since kidney disease and heart disease raise each other's risk. HbA1c and a blood count complete the review. It is intended for people with diabetes who already have signs of kidney change or have had diabetes for many years.

A complete diabetic kidney check with cystatin C, PTH, lipids and the standard kidney and urine tests.

What does this package cover?

The 8 tests are grouped into 7 health areas:

Blood count & inflammation 1 test

Red cells, white cells and platelets, blood group, and general inflammation markers.

  • Complete Blood Count (CBC)

RBC count, haemoglobin, haematocrit, WBC count with differential (neutrophils, lymphocytes, monocytes, eosinophils, basophils), platelet count, and red-cell indices (MCV, MCH, MCHC).

Diabetes & blood sugar 1 test

Current and 3-month average blood sugar, plus insulin markers for diabetes and insulin resistance.

  • HbA1c (Glycated Haemoglobin)

The percentage of haemoglobin in red blood cells that has glucose attached to it (glycated) - since red cells live about 120 days, this reflects average blood sugar over that period.

Heart & cholesterol 1 test

Blood fats and inflammation markers that together indicate the risk of heart disease and stroke.

  • Lipid Profile

Total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, triglycerides, and the calculated VLDL and total cholesterol/HDL ratio.

Kidney & electrolytes 2 tests

How well your kidneys filter waste, plus the salts (electrolytes) they keep in balance.

  • Kidney Function Test

Blood urea/BUN, serum creatinine, eGFR (estimated glomerular filtration rate), uric acid, sodium, potassium, chloride, and calcium.

  • Microalbumin

The concentration of albumin in a urine sample, often expressed as a ratio to urine creatinine (ACR) to account for urine concentration.

Vitamins, bone & minerals 1 test

Vitamin D, B12, folate and the minerals and hormones that keep bones and nerves healthy.

Urine 1 test

Routine urine analysis for infection, sugar, protein and kidney clues.

  • Urine Routine & Microscopic Examination

Physical characteristics (colour, clarity), chemical markers (protein, glucose, ketones, blood, pH), and microscopic examination for cells, crystals, casts and bacteria in a urine sample.

Other tests 1 test

Additional tests included in this package.

  • Cystatin - C

The concentration of Cystatin C in the blood, used to estimate kidney filtration rate (eGFR).

8 tests included (73 parameters)

Why consider this package?

  • 8 laboratory investigations in one booking
  • Looks at 7 health areas together, not in isolation
  • All samples collected in a single home visit
  • Costs ₹2,243 less than booking the tests separately
  • Useful for preventive screening, or when your doctor wants these tests together
  • Pathologist-reviewed reports shared online

Who is this package for?

Designed for

Men & women

Age group

All ages

Purpose

Health screening

People with long-standing diabetes, those with known mild kidney impairment, or with high blood pressure alongside diabetes.

How often should you get it done?

Yearly, or every three to six months if kidney changes are present.

Not everyone needs every test. Whether this package suits you depends on your age, symptoms, family history and any ongoing treatment - your doctor can advise.

What can you learn from this package?

The package can provide information about:

  • Blood count & inflammation - Complete Blood Count (CBC)
  • Diabetes & blood sugar - HbA1c (Glycated Haemoglobin)
  • Heart & cholesterol - Lipid Profile
  • Kidney & electrolytes - Kidney Function Test and Microalbumin
  • Vitamins, bone & minerals - PTH - Intact (Parathyroid Hormone)
  • Urine - Urine Routine & Microscopic Examination
  • Other tests - Cystatin - C

A package gives individual results for each test - it does not diagnose disease by itself.

How to prepare

  • Fast for 10 to 12 hours before the sample - plain water is allowed. An early-morning slot makes this easier.
  • Drink water as usual, and avoid alcohol and strenuous exercise for 24 hours before.
  • Take your regular medicines unless your doctor advises otherwise, and tell the phlebotomist what you take.
  • For the urine test, a first-morning, mid-stream sample in the sterile container we provide is best.
  • Wear a loose-sleeved top so the blood sample can be collected easily.

Understanding your package report

Your report lists the result of each test separately, with its own unit and reference range. Values outside the range are highlighted.

There is no single overall "health score" - each result is read on its own and then together with the others. One out-of-range value is not a diagnosis, and a normal report does not guarantee you are completely healthy.

Share the report with your doctor, who will interpret it with your symptoms and history. Call us if you need help reading it.

Frequently asked questions

Why does PTH matter in kidney disease?

As kidney function falls, calcium and phosphate balance shifts and PTH rises, which can weaken bone. Monitoring it allows early treatment.

How should I prepare?

Fast for ten to twelve hours with water allowed for the lipid profile, and collect a first-morning urine sample if possible.

What if my eGFR is mildly low?

A mildly low eGFR is common with age and diabetes. Your doctor will look at the trend, your urine albumin and your medicines before deciding what to do.
