About this package

Bowel problems often bleed in tiny amounts that cannot be seen. The stool occult blood test looks for that hidden blood, which can come from piles, ulcers, polyps or cancer, and is a recognised screening step. The blood count shows whether blood loss has caused anaemia, and CEA is the marker most followed in bowel disease. AFP and CRP add liver and inflammation context. A positive stool test does not mean cancer, but it does mean that a doctor should look for the source, usually with a colonoscopy. A negative test is helpful but does not exclude every problem.

A bowel-focused panel: CEA, AFP, CRP, blood count and a stool test for occult blood.

What does this package cover?

The 5 tests are grouped into 3 health areas:

Blood count & inflammation 2 tests

Red cells, white cells and platelets, blood group, and general inflammation markers.

  • Complete Blood Count (CBC)

RBC count, haemoglobin, haematocrit, WBC count with differential (neutrophils, lymphocytes, monocytes, eosinophils, basophils), platelet count, and red-cell indices (MCV, MCH, MCHC).

  • CRP (C-Reactive Protein)

The level of C-reactive protein circulating in the blood, which rises within hours of an inflammatory trigger.

Tumour markers 2 tests

Blood markers doctors use alongside examination and imaging - a normal value does not rule out cancer.

Other tests 1 test

Additional tests included in this package.

  • Stool for Occult Blood

Stool for Occult Blood is a diagnostic laboratory test carried out on a stool sample. Your doctor may advise it to screen for, diagnose or monitor a related condition, with results reported against standard reference ranges.

5 tests included (30 parameters)

Why consider this package?

  • 5 laboratory investigations in one booking
  • Looks at 3 health areas together, not in isolation
  • All samples collected in a single home visit
  • Costs ₹696 less than booking the tests separately
  • Useful for preventive screening, or when your doctor wants these tests together
  • Pathologist-reviewed reports shared online

Who is this package for?

Designed for

Men & women

Age group

All ages

Purpose

Health screening

Adults over forty-five, people with a family history of bowel cancer, and anyone with altered bowel habits, anaemia or blood in stool.

How often should you get it done?

The stool test is usually repeated yearly from middle age, and your doctor will advise on a colonoscopy.

Not everyone needs every test. Whether this package suits you depends on your age, symptoms, family history and any ongoing treatment - your doctor can advise.

What can you learn from this package?

The package can provide information about:

  • Blood count & inflammation - Complete Blood Count (CBC) and CRP (C-Reactive Protein)
  • Tumour markers - Alpha Feto Protein (AFP) and Carcino Embryonic Antigen (CEA)
  • Other tests - Stool for Occult Blood

A package gives individual results for each test - it does not diagnose disease by itself.

How to prepare

  • No fasting is required for this package.
  • Drink water as usual, and avoid alcohol and strenuous exercise for 24 hours before.
  • Take your regular medicines unless your doctor advises otherwise, and tell the phlebotomist what you take.
  • For the stool test, collect a small sample in the container provided, avoiding contact with urine or water.
  • Wear a loose-sleeved top so the blood sample can be collected easily.

Understanding your package report

Your report lists the result of each test separately, with its own unit and reference range. Values outside the range are highlighted.

There is no single overall "health score" - each result is read on its own and then together with the others. One out-of-range value is not a diagnosis, and a normal report does not guarantee you are completely healthy.

Share the report with your doctor, who will interpret it with your symptoms and history. Call us if you need help reading it.

Frequently asked questions

How do I collect the stool sample?

We provide a clean container and instructions. Collect a small sample from a normal bowel movement, avoiding contact with toilet water or urine, and hand it over as directed.

Do I need to change my diet beforehand?

Some tests are affected by red meat, certain vegetables and vitamin C. Our team will confirm the preparation for the method used when you book.

Is fasting required?

No fasting is needed. A morning slot is convenient, but any time of day works.
